Ben 10 is the young ten year old Benjamin Tennyson who transforms into different aliens to protect the earth.  Gwen Tennyson is Bens cousin, who although unlike her cousin Ben cannot transform into aliens, still has her fair share of trouble when helping Ben save the world.

Gwen, who shares the same birthday as her cousin, has a love-hate relationship with them, not unlike many siblings or cousins of the same age group.  Gwen often uses sarcasm and her dry wit toward Ben but although they may bicker a lot, she is the first one there to give him a helping hand when he needs one.

Gwen is the brains of the family and you will often find her researching on her laptop the people or creatures that they encounter.  She also has many skills including gymnastics and martial arts training.  While Ben has the Omnitrix and the role of transforming into the various aliens, it is Gwen who is often the brains behind their encounters.

Gwen is known to have a ‘magical aura’ and has the gift to be able to use spells and magical artifacts.  Gwen really is a hero in her own right when she masters her magical talents and combines then with her physical talents and training.  Gwens talents and training lead her to become a black belt in martial arts and a master magician using the ‘Charms of Bezel’.

Gwen Tennyson plays a big role in the Ben 10 series and movies, making Ben 10 not only popular with young boys but also with young girls who may envision themselves in the role of Gwen.

If you have young children then you have likely heard of Ben 10 but have you heard of ‘Heatblast’?  Who is heatblast and why would having a heatlbast costume make your son a very happy little boy this Halloween?

Benjamin Tennyson – aka Ben 10 – is a young boy who is in possession of a watch like machine called an Omnitrix.  As the wearer of this Omnitrix, Ben can transform into various different aliens to fight other aliens in his quest to protect the earth.

Each of these aliens that Ben can transform into has its own special power and Ben chooses the alien for its abilities to fight in the different situations he encounters.

One of these aliens that Ben transforms into is ‘Heatblast’.  Heatblast was the first alien that Ben ever transformed into and he is basically fire – living fire – he can give off and project fire and he can absorb heat. 

When Ben is transformed into Heatblast he can fly, teleport short distances, has superhuman durability and can be thrown through buildings without being slowed down.  He can also distinguish fire just as quickly and easily as he can start one.

While being transformed into Heatblast Ben must be careful when touching flammable materials so he doesn’t set them on fire and must also be careful of large amounts of water or substances that can put out fires as these can be harmful to him.

Being the first alien that Ben transformed into, Heatblast is one of the favourites and is very popular with the fans.

Ben 10 show features three main characters being Ben Tennyson, Gwen Tennyson (his cousin) and Max Tennyson (their grandfather).  At the beginning of the show Ben found a pod on the ground after storming off into the woods following an argument with Ben.  Inside of this pod is a watch type machine known as the Omnitrix.

This Omnitrix attaches to Bens arm and this is what allows him to transform into the various aliens.  Each of the aliens that he transforms into has its own special power so Ben will choose which alien to turn into depending on the power that he needs for the particular situation.

Ben, Gwen and Max find themselves in many dangerous situations in their efforts to save the world.  They have some very close calls but Ben always comes out on top.

Ben has to learn to master the use of the Omnitrix and of the various aliens as other aliens attempt to rob him of the Omnitrix to use its power for themselves.

Ben 10 is incredibly popular with children, particularly boys, so don’t be surprised if you find your son fantasizing about being Ben 10.
